Known Product Issues: Electronic Prescription Renewal
Dear Centricity Practice Solution and Centricity EMR Customers:
We would like to direct your attention to two important product issues with electronic prescription renewal requests:
Issue #1: The medication in the message to the pharmacy may be incorrect if the user makes a change to the renewal following a non-standard workflow. This will affect all versions of Centricity Practice Solution 12.2.X, 12.3.X and Centricity EMR 9.10.X, 9.12.X.
Issue #2: In response to an electronic renewal request from the pharmacy, a user can change the quantity qualifier in the prescription refill form. Upon making the change using the inline edit field, the patient instructions will be replaced with “Undefined”. If the user proceeds without modifying the instructions, the resulting response to the pharmacy reverts to the original prescription with the original quantity qualifier and patient instructions. However, the chart note and prescription history will maintain the changes and display the new quantity qualifier and “Undefined” in the instructions. If the user changes the quantity qualifier in the prescription form via the edit icon, the resulting response to the pharmacy will not contain the change in quantity qualifier that is now represented in the patient’s medication list. This will affect all versions of Centricity Practice Solution 12.3.X and Centricity EMR 9.12.X.
