We are currently using Adobe Acrobat to scan our documents into Kryptiq's Document management system to index them into the chart but Adobe Acrobat no longer works on Windows 7 machines and we are in the process of upgrading.
What software can be used to capture the image and sent to Doument Management?
Take a look at this other thread, others have mentioned using ScandAll - https://centricityusers.com/?page_id=.....e-capture/
We actually use Document Management to scan. Also we have our scanners set up so the buttons can scan to PDF in a shared folder.
We use Document Management but how do you get the documents into a PDF and to appear in the Indexing client? We spoke to GE yesterday and they said that Doument Management does have this feature but they only recommend it if you are scanning 1-2 pages at most and not for more than that. Our clinics sometimes scan 14 pages of information at once.
Do you have the scan tab in the indexing client? There's a UI setting to show/hide it. I think it was considered a new feature a while ago but it's been there for at least a few years. Not sure why they wouldn't recommend it, other than the document must be indexed when scanning to save it. That's how our VAR set us up. If you prefer to scan and then index later, you'd have to look at that ScandAll or something else. I believe most scanners include software to save to pdf in a folder, such as one on a network drive monitored by the indexing client.
I have a whole new document management system, which my clients believe is top of the line with automated OCR processors to auto-index with rules setup. If you are interested, please let me know. I can schedule an online demo.
