EHR Specialist
Summary:
EHR Specialist will serve as the implementation manager during implementation, and to supervise EHR use in the clinic and act as an administrator after Go-Live.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Gather information
Analyze clinic workflows
Manage the project plan
Coordinate the EHR Team meetings
Plan, develop, present, communicate, and train new processes within the EHR
Supports the staff in their use of the EHR
Collect and resolve problems experienced by the staff. Resolving problems may include reporting them to EHR vendor and following up to make sure the problems have been adequately resolved
Ensure that the EHR is used properly, legally, and productively in the clinic
Maintain and improve the EHR after GoLive
Maintain workflows over time and adjust them, as clinic needs change
Awareness of setup changes and how they affect each clinical location within the enterprise
The EMR Manager manages staff privileges, preferences, and monitors system security.
Modify and build advanced clinical content.
Develop and maintain system reports (including MU reporting, monthly reports, and others as assigned)
Keep users current and trained on new functionality and conduct and schedule additional staff training as needed
Coordinate training of new staff
Responsible for growth of the system, trouble-shooting problems, and acting upon enhancements.
Help to optimize the usage and benefits of the system
Delegation of tasks to lead employees related to their area of expertise
Education:
BA/BS in clinical field of study or information systems preferred or equivalent experience
Experience:
Minimum 3 years in clinical setting (Orthopaedic preferred). Proven project management experience. EMR/EHR management experience (GE Centricity preferred).
