We are on CPS 12.8 with approx. 800 GB database and have issues with latency in certain areas of Chart even after bumping up CPU and Ram on DB and JBOSS servers. We have never run the ArchiveOBS tool, but GE is recommending that we do to increase performance. We had them run it in our test environment on only 2 patients and there were issues. Has anyone used the ArchiveOBS tool and had successful results on a fairly large database size? Were Physicians happy with the archive button?
Thanks so much!
We are EMR 9.8.9, about the same size as you, and have been running it successfully for quite a while. We run:
execute archive_obs(nMaxOBS=>1500, nLimit=>500, nArchUnsigned=>0, nHoursToRun=>8);
Had an issue for a while when they messed up the interface so it was hard to press the button to get all obs but that has been fixed. Sometimes people forget about that button but for the most part is has worked well.
We've run it many times on patients with giant charts. What do you mean when you say "there were issues"?
We run ArchiveOBS, it helps performance quite a bit for those huge charts.
Does anyone know for sure what archiving obs affects? I know it affects the flowsheet by not showing all the obs until view all obs button is pressed. Are there any other places in CPS it affects? Thanks.
