Anyone experience this where the medication name is no longer visible in the document line until you open up the refill request since the upgrade?
Thank you!
We reported this issue when first testing 9.10 in LA but then we didn't notice it as being much of an issue when we went into production with that version. We are definitely seeing after upgrading to 9.12. First they said it always worked like that and then were told to just change our workflow by no longer using the update meds button on toolbar. It is fine if you open up refill form after using that button or if accessing it via the html refill form. I asked that they remove or fix the update meds button but not sounding like they plan to.
The SPR is # 70793 and this is GE's response on the issue when reported last month: With the introduction of the new HTML Prescriptions form there is a new workflow required to see medications added in an update in the text translation of the note. In order for prescribed medications to show in the text translation, the new prescriptions form must be opened in the update. This is why we recommend that when adding a new medication you click on the Refills button and then click on the Update Medications button on the Prescriptions form. This will ensure that the text translation for the medications appears in the text of the update. There is also a new text component called Rx Refill 2016 which can be used to insert the text translation into the update, however care is required when using this as if you insert the text component into the note and then also access the Prescriptions form, you will end up with two copies of the text translation in the update. Note that it does not actually duplicate the medications in the patients chart but the text would just show up twice. This is why we recommend the first option of adding/updating medications by first clicking on the Rx Refill button and then using the update medications option on the Prescriptions form.
Are you referring to the Summary line when you start a refill document? If so yes, we have noticed that the description that used to appear in the summary line when you started the document is gone. I opened a case with GE today.
thanks!!
Thanks all. This is actually in reference to the eSM Rx Refill document that comes to a desktop and not the Rx Refill "button" in the chart. I do see an SPR was opened.
