Greetings! We are on Centricity 9.8.6 and for a while now we have not been able to consistently see preliminary lab results overlay in Centricity. In some cases, the lab results are exactly the same and we are seeing multiple preliminary labs in Centricity (sometimes 3 or 4 with same timestamps and data). There are some that do, but we haven't been able to hone in on why. In Settings we do have the overaly area checked off.
The results we've looked at so far show that none of the resulting datasets have been removed any of the reporting results within the preliminary items, though some have added them, which, according to GE, is fine. Result categories which have been removed would not overlay, which would be expected.
We use Soft lab interfaced into Centricity, and the HL7 message seems fine, particularly the order date.
Has anyone had to resolve something like this issue before?
Thank you for your thoughts above.
We are currently focusing on CBC and HIV tests as these appear to be the common thread when results are not overlaying. In SoftLab, there are rules associated with these tests that will add additional orders or cancel components of the test, depending on results. SoftLab support is currently looking into whether these rules are having an effect on the lack of result overly to Centricity.
Additionally, there are times when Soft sends a prelim result and Centricity shows up to 8 labs under documents all for the same prelim. We're looking into that as well.
These are some notes from Soft.
OBR 7 is sent all the time, consistently.
OBX 14 is an active, optional field in Soft configuration. At this time, we are not sending any information in this segment. Soft isn't sure that EMR-LINK's ability to suppress this segment would help with the overlay.
OBR 3 displays the order # (LIS or HIS), stays consistent
OBR 4 displays the Test , stays consistent
DNR (Do Not Report) fields are not sent to the HIS.
OBX 25 is going to change as you mentioned.
Thanks again,
-Jack
