I'm curious if anyone has found a resolution to this error who's running CEMR. We have come across our second patient in our system that issues this error and crashing the application when trying to add a problem. This patient was recently enrolled in our orgs surgical weight loss program and will be seen on a weekly basis across multiple specialties over the next 6 months which compounds the severity of this error.
I know that this has been an open SPR (61167) with GE since 2014. They are adamant that it isn't a patient safety issue which we strongly disagree with. Their workaround of creating a dup chart is obviously a patient safety issue. Has anyone been able to develop a homegrown solution that actually works?
Hi,
This is a huge problem for us. We have one provider who has around 15 of these charts. The workaround we have is when the provider needs to add a problem or in some cases medication to the chart he sends me a flag with what needs to be added. I then created a temporary form that I insert into the update and then the provider goes in and clicks the button. DispatchHelper
I tried to attach the .dlg of what we use. The only way I can tell to get around this is to use a button to bypass the "New" button in the problems or medications module.
Let me know if the form does not open.
Dave
I appreciate you sharing your workaround. I can't imagine modifying this form every time a provider has to add a problem to the patient's list, but it is nice to have the option. Talk about a serious workflow disruption for everyone involved.
GE states that they believe they have resolved the issue with SP11 Patch 7, currently in LA. Our organization elected not to take SP11 (on SP10) because of the well documented stability issues. If we did decide to take 11.7 to resolve this issue we would be looking at a solid 8 weeks before putting it into production.
There has to be a better way...
Yea I believe GE's work around was to just free text the problem or medication into the note, which definitely was not going to work for us. For us its only one provider.
GE originally said they thought it might have something to do with obsolete users. Not sure how these are related but that's what they told me.
Dave
Your obsolete user comment sent me down a new path. In our system we get our External ID's from the hospital Meditech system. I created a dup chart yesterday, merged it, and then switched the External ID back to the original and it was still throwing the error. Today, I created another dup chart, merged it, but gave the patient a new External ID. Low and behold the error is gone.
We will have to have the dup charts merged to the new number in the Meditech system, but if your organization only uses GE then you should be good to go. Obviously any PM system interfaced will also have to b updated to reflect the new #.
!!!UPDATE!!! The fix worked during the session, but as soon as I logged out and back into EMR the DispatchHelper error came back.
