Just wanted to know if anyone is having the following problem. For about a month we have been unable to refill or add any prescriptions to two different patient's charts. I put in a case with GE and was told that the case needed to be sent to the software engineering department because the service rep was unable to fix the problem. I submitted a status request today and was told the following:
They see this as an important issue that needs further investigation. However, they do not see this as a safety issue:
“The customer reported an inability to chart. An inability to record in the system would not impact real-time, urgent clinical decisions and manual workarounds available for data entry / charting / prescription ordering.

Am I right to think not being able to document medications and office visits could be a potential safety concern? We can't document the medications therefore there is no way to track the last refill or interactions with new medications. Is there someone else with GE I can contact besides support. The rep did not offer any workarounds until it is fixed. Sorry for the long post!
What is the error message that you are receiving when trying to add medications and/or refill to those two charts? I had an issue with authorizing providers that I was able to get resolved, thanks, Stacy
The best advice I can tell you is to be persistent. We had a major issue where medications were disappearing off the patient's chart all together when being prescriber. This would then cause the document to not be able to be signed and caused significant issues in our system. GE stated there wasn't a problem because no others had reported it.
Good luck. I hope it has been resolved.
We are having the same issues - several patient charts that users cannot add/edit medications for. GE says it's a known issue and they are working on it but of course there is no ETA. Their workaround was to create a new chart for the affected patients and work out of the new chart while using the old chart for review until the issue is fixed by GE. Once the issue is fixed we can merge the charts back into one. Definitely a potential safety concern and this needs much more attention than what it's getting. We are in an all Citrix environment running 9.8.4.
