We are receiving this error in our patient banner periodically. Any idea what may be causing this? We can be in a patient's chart for a period of time and the name will change to the MEL coding or we can just open a patient's chart and see the coding instead of the patient name. If a chart update is started when this happens, it gives an Error: Unable to Locate Patient on the Dashboard.
Any help would be appreciated.
We are having this same problem as well. Hopefully there is a fix.
Not that specific error, but I have seen Banner errors (in MEL) occur when there is heavy network traffic. Essentially, a command times out, and then there will be some weird "stuff' in the Banner.
Since you stated intermittent, I wonder if this may be the case for you.
My first thought would be a control character in a patient name. The MEL interpreter isn't the best at data validation. If you have a patient name with a } or ; perhaps that could break it.
We are having the same issue and happened after ICD-10 upgrade. Was told it was a known issue. Happens rarely for us though. If you go out of the chart and back in, the banner is back.
We have had this problem since upgrading to EMR 9.8 in October 2014. GE gave us SPR CISDB00059040. It was supposed to be fixed in SP7 but evidently isn't because we are still experiencing it.
Working in LinkLogic almost always causes mel vomit in the banner.
