We just went live with Medication Management today and are having difficulty when it comes to refills. Our front desk staff enters the refill request as a phone note and routes the document to the nurse or provider. The nurse or provider is able to refill the medication but they cannot sign the phone note document as the medication management module won't stop reappearing on the screen. Right now I have the staff completing the refill but routing the document back to their desktop on hold because they can't pull up another patient chart. Any help would be greatly appreciated
We had that issue when we first went live and it ended up being a problem with the Med Management Sync. If the provider doesn't wait for it to finish the sync which takes longer the first time, it will mess up the sync and lock the chart up. That could be what is happening with your office. You have to open a ticket with Athenia and they will run a script to fix it.
Thank you for your answer.
We have found that if they uncheck their "sign clinical list changes" box when they go to put it on hold, it will let them exit Med Mgmt without it popping back up if they need to put it on hold and go back to it later to sign/complete. I try to remind everyone to make sure they recheck the box when done but this is the only work around I have found that works.
Yeah, that's I've been having the staff do until Athena calls me about the ticket. I feel like there's more than a normal amount of glitches to this medication management module.
When we were first having this issue, providers were missing the step to actually "Send" the prescription, so we were taken back to the Medication Management Module to take action on the awaiting prescriptions (Send to pharmacy). Not sure if this is the case with your site.
I trained them to check that they had no Rx Pending (bell icon).
