We upgraded to 12.2, and overall like the new HTML Refill form. We are having one problem. We are a FQHC with multiple medical specialties as well as a large behavioral health team. Since this upgrade, only one provider can have a refill note open, meaning if a patient has both BH and medical providers, and needs refills on meds from both, our refill coordinators have to open a note to one of the providers, get that signed off, and then remember to send a refill request to the other as well. It has also been a problem when a patient gets a med during a visit and then requests a different refill a few days later if the provider has not yet signed their note. It has been a headache for our refill team, but also for patients whose refills are taking longer than in the past.
We checked with GE and they have told us this is not a bug, but rather a safety issue, to allow the prescribers to always have the most up-to-date med list available and allow the interaction checker to work best.
Has anyone, especially with multi-specialties, figured out a way to work around this problem?
