Hello,
Is anyone having issues printing in GE. We are having random issues with users not able to print. They are having to restart the system in order to print. It is not across the board it is random.
Are you on a Citrix (or other thin client) environment? we have had several printing issues in the past, and they are mainly due to our Citrix. Here are some of the problems we have encountered.
- 1 server out of 12 has some wrong print drivers. anyone logged into that server could not print to specific printers.
- Citrix profile was corrupted, and had to be deleted and recreated.
- emr.ini file in the Client folder was not configured properly, causing a variety of printing problems until it was fixed.
Also, can you print to a different printer when the error occurs, or have you already tried switching printers before you log out?
We have some random print errors as well.
1. The typical citrix CPS print issue - solution: changing the emr.ini file
2. we get a print error - terprint or something of that nature - solution: we have to uninstall and reinstall the printer in the user's profile
3. Kyocera print drivers completely crippling the citrix box and us having to restart the print spooler on that server way too often - solution: uninstalled Kyocera drivers and used the HP universal print driver instead
4. we have an interesting one where we have a printer in prior auth office and when a couple of our users print there it comes out looking crazy, something is obviously typed by it is completely unreadable and looks like it is blown up. So then they printer to our check out printer instead but it comes out on the prior auth printer and it looks fine. - solution: installed new drivers
