Really struggled with how to title this...today received some calls saying that documents are disappearing from desktops. For example, there was a signed document on a users desktop. The called stated that the user was about to select a particular document that was on her desktop and it 'just disappeared' and then showed up on a co-workers desktop. This user called back later and stated that a phone note that was started back on 1/5/2015 'showed up' on her desktop today. Nothing had been done to it since it was started. She said at first she thought that she had put the wrong date (2/5/15) but that wouldn't be possible since that is a future date.
We just loaded Service pack 7 this past weeked. Has anyone else seen this happening?
We did not see this during SP7 but had a similar experience way back when loading 9.2/9.5 (don't recall which).
During the upgrade the system the system 'fixed' documents which had been "lost" in transit, even though theoretically you shouldn't have an open document not on a Desktop.
There's a "Unsigned Documents not on a Desktop" report that identifies these documents. Most but not all of those documents were interfaced like Labs.
If have a copy of your pre-SP7 system, I'd recommend you run the report and see if any correlation appears.
Thank you for the suggestion. I will get with our IT manager and see if that is possible. I'm not sure what his process was.
