We upgraded to Med Management on Wednesday and we have a weird issue when printing prescriptions. It is like the left margins are off. Athena is blaming print drivers, settings, PCL, etc. I have experimented with switching drivers around and only got one of them to work by setting an obscure setting in the print driver which didn't even seem to stick. If I look at that setting it seems like it is set back to default but it does work for that one machine. I tried it on a second machine to no avail.
The good news is that it consistently is off by a certain amount (like one letter) on the left margin. I still use a secondary instance of each driver called "RX Paper" which is pointed to a certain tray so I can make a change to that "printer" without affecting the plain paper tray. I haven't needed to do that on a printer or a driver in years. That has been a Windows setting for as long as I can remember. Maybe in the DOS days you had to mess with such things but that is really in the past.
This is going to be a long process if support doesn't help. They suggested driver corruption and non PCL printing but that makes no sense as every fat client would need to have the same corruption on various brands and models of printers.
Just curious if anyone else has seen this or if I am the only customer with this issue (seemingly as usual). Our work around is to print to pdf, then print that pdf out. It stinks to have to do that so I hope to discover a resolution soon.

Hey Mike,
My guess is you are one of the few that has made the jump to Med Management so far. We are moving May 25th, and have one provider that prints (refuses to sign up for EPCS) so I can let you know if we have any issues after that. If you do find a resolution in the meantime I would be interested to hear what it is. Good luck,
I agree that you're probably one of the firsts to make the jump. I created another post with the hopes that it could be a place for us to provide feedback and lessons learned through the process. Any and all feedback that you can provide is much appreciated.
We experienced the same issue. This was the response we received:
May 3rd 2021 - Athena created a KA for this, which essentially lists it as a known issue with an enhancement request in place. The KA number is 98784. The only workaround at this time is to print in Landscape mode. Since the clinic is linked to the KA, they will be notified when a permanent fix is in place.
Hope this helps

Thank you Christine. The landscape mode will be a life saver and it is good to know Athena is working on the problem

We had this issue as well. All of our printers use the HP PCL 5 or 6 drivers, with the exception of one Brother printer, which did not exhibit this issue at all.
Thanks Christine for the update and workaround, which has taken care of the issue for us.
