Hello,
We built a new document type for scanning. We set it up so it doesn't require to be signed nor does it have a provider assigned to it.
Every time the document type is used. It gets assigned to the provider whom was on that day and it requires a signature! On top of that, it tells us that we do not have the required privilege to sign the document!
I tried opening a case with GE but I was on hold for 15 minutes before my phone call was forced into voice mail.
Thought while I was waiting for them to call back I would ask here.
Hi Scott, a provider is required for every document created into the chart, there is no way around that unless you setup a fake user, such as Scan Documents, or something like that. To gain privileges, you need to go to the users group or user who will be signing them, in administration and make sure under document signatures, they have authorization to sign the document. What are you using for importing your scanned documents? Kryptic? And you said it was set to auto-sign correct? it might not be working cause you do not have a user assigned as a provider. I recommend you trying setting a provider to it, then it should auto-sign the document.
To add to what acantu said, if this is an external document being imported via HL7, the HL7 message field TXA.17.1 must be AU to import as signed. In Linklogic > Task Options > Import Tasks > Documents, ensure the box is checked for "Import authenticated documents (TXA-17) as signed."
The user has to have Security to sign the document type also.

Where in the HL-7 message do I define the assigned provider?
