Our group of orthopods uses GE on a virtual server over remote desktop for our private office. We have a third party addon (KeyText) also loaded on the server that allows one to add boilerplate text in a form box (ie, HPI). The reason we have used this is to add function not found innately in GE, ie, to ask for a variable as in the following example:
".firstname and I have discussed performing a <Ask for surgical procedure, print it here and save to variable> with questions answered. .HeShe gives consent for surgery. <Open flag to scheduler, add Variable, send flag>"
This uses quicktext for name and sex-specific pronouns from demographics. It then opens a popup to input the procedure, writes that into boiler plate and opens flag, addressed to scheduler, writes procedure (from saved variable) and sends flag.
This worked perfectly up until our CPS 12 upgrade. I have also attempted a test with 2 other macro programs, but each suffer the same fate; once the "Ask" or "Input" boxes pop up, the focus is lost from the original text box in GE (in example above, the HPI form text box), and the remainder disappears into the ether.
GE answer is that it isn't a problem with GE (patently incorrect...). The author(s) of the macro programs tell me no updates have been made to their program. I would appreciate any insight one may have.
Hi candersen,
as a add-on developer myself, this really should be developers responsibility. For any plugin's, add-on's and custom applications I build to work with CPS, an annual support fee is there so that you always get a working version, no matter what version of Centricity you are using. Not sure if you are paying a support license, but seems to me that the vendor is failing to support you and their product.
