Anyone having an issue when trying to renew metoprolol succinate on the Prescriptions form?
The Renew button doesn't work for this particular med. Have tested in various patient's charts.
I have received reports of other meds where this form doesn't allow them to renew. They have to do a work around to get certain meds refilled.
The code may be out of date for that particular Metoprolol. Try going out to the reference list and choosing one from there and see if you can refill it.
We were told this was a known issue with the eRx form in CPS 12.1 and is supposedly is fixed in 12.2.
We have seen it with metoprolol, potassium citrate and furosemide.
Thanks for your reply Cheryl,
We are on 12.2.1
Are you saying the fix is with 12.2.2? Just clarifying. Thanks!
I guess...we are currently on 12.2.1
And this was from my IT admin:
A defect in the eRx form we currently use has been identified. When clicking the “Renew” button for certain medications, nothing happens. There are at least two that we have encountered with this problem, which are potassium citrate and furosemide. We are currently on CPS version 12.1. The bug is fixed in 12.2. Until we update, a workaround will need to be used to submit these prescriptions.
Here is the workaround from Quatris / GE:
1. From the refill screen select the medication update screen (top left)
2. Highlight the medication to be prescribed and select change (bottom)
3. Put the quantity/qualifier/refills
4. Select authorized provider and prescribing method and select Ok
5. This will move that medication over from the left column to the right side of the form so that it can be prescribed
Note: This will act like a changed medication, which will affect the patient’s medication history. To view the full medication history for a patient after using this workaround, you’ll need to select “All items” on the medication page.
