Hello,
We have recently received a comment that the way we share our CCC test files (the other side of CCC forms) on centralized network storage is NOT the best way. So, I was wondering how other groups or organizations are handling access to the CCC text files.
We are on Citrix and each Citrix server is mapped to a drive letter that point to the CCC text files. Also the usrlib.txt is configured to look at that drive letter to load the CCC contents.
Any thoughts or ideas on improving the above process are appreciated.
We've always saved the CCC text files locally in each individual Citrix server's CPO directory. Unfortunately, as you make any change, it has to be copied out to every server. You can copy either manually or via something like XCOPY. It's annoying but not particularly difficult.
The release notes clearly state that you can use a centralized storage location and I'd given some thought to that, so I'm sorry to hear it may not work well.
Im curious as to why its not the best solution. We use a central set of text files (not CCC but same idea) called with a usrlib.txt file, I only need to make changes in one place any time I do updates. We have been going for a few years with this method without any issues
If I understand correctly, this is for users to access the files. We use the jobs.txt to push out files to all clients.
