We use the basic reports with CPS 12.0.
I was trying to find information regarding Analytics reporting software on GE's portal but I did not find it.
What reporting software is everyone using and what are the pro's/con's for that product? Is the cost for the software annually, monthly fee, etc.?
Our Practice Administrator is wanting Provider specific, Payer specific, Patient specific reports.
Any feedback would be appreciative!
Have you seen this? https://engage.gehealthcare.com/community/en/cps/downloads#analytics
I don't know what's in the documentation, but I knew I'd seen it before.
I know several practices that use CA extensively for this type of reporting. Sorry I can't provide details as I've rarely been directly involved with it.
Functionally, it extracts data from the CPS database to its own database daily. That is the database the stats and reports come from. So it isn't "live" but the numbers are from within the last 24 hours.

Another approach is to bring on-board someone to build custom reporting for you. Perhaps as an hourly consultant to begin with, and if he/she seems to understand your needs and is able to help you to answers, then you create the full-time role.
What I have seen from many years GE (and insurance/case-management) background is that each business is different and has unique rules. These rules impact any reporting. And as you better understand your data, you can then embark on the next step of analytics - designing dashboards to review key metrics.
We use Centricity Analytics here and find it is very easy to use. You use excel and connect to the Centricity Analytics database which is updated each morning around 5:00 am so yes, it is not "live" but as of what transpired the previous day. Our only concern is there there are many fields that are not included in the CA database so it's not like you can report on "anything".

Our practice administrator currently uses practice analytics. Does anyone know if there is a way in analytics or an add-on software that can automate running reports and emailing them to specific recipients. Thank you!
We build most of our own reports in Crystal Reports (as does GE). We then bought Crystal Report Server and had it loaded onto a virtual server. From there, I can connect to the server, pull in a report definition and schedule it to run daily/weekly/monthly. The report output can then be emailed automatically to specific people or have the output (typically excel files) stored to a shared folder.
One of the newer versions of Crystal Reports Server allows you to kind of double-pass the data. (We do not use this, but I am sort of aware.) The Crystal Report extracts all the data, and then you pass the result back into the process with a distribution list. For example, find all unsigned notes and then pass the output back in with a cross reference file, and each doctor would get a custom list of jsut their unsigned notes.
Thank you for your response Joe. I build a lot of reports in Crystal as well and am actually looking into getting Crystal Reports Server. The administrator has some reports that he still runs out of analytics and was asking me if there was anything equivalent. I haven't found anything but thought I'd check here. Thanks!
We are wondering the same thing-- Is there not a business intelligence software available? Like IBM's Cognos Analytics? Our CEO is requesting the same thing as the original question.
