For 2014, we've decided to compile our own data and submit through a third party registry. I'm compiling data from our billing and EMR system to create submission files.
I'd like to use PQRS measure 130 - "Documentation of Current Medications in the Medical Record" because it applies broadly to all providers. For this measure, "medication" includes over-the-counters, herbals and vitamin/mineral/dietary supplements. This measure requires an indication that the med list has been reviewed (I figure I can look for MEDS REVIEW obsterm). Additionally, each medication must have medication name, dosage, frequency and administered route. I'm struggling with finding a way to substantiate this.
Anyone else attempted this?
Hello,
I am sorry that I cannot answer your question. We plan to submit through a third party. Are you creating your own reports? GE doesn't have all the crystal reports for this. Do you know if they reports have to be certified?
Thanks for your input.
The reports for PQRS do not have to be certified. And unlike Meaningful Use, the data can come from anywhere (EMR, billing system, paper charts, etc.) You just need to be able to substantiate your data if audited.
I'm doing custom reports combining billing data with EMR data. It's a pain. Hoping to not have to do it again next year. The problem is we are multispecialty, and GE does not offer measures for all of our eligible providers. GE offers NO support for the easier to achieve "measure groups".
Good luck!
We are in the same boat. We have let GE submit for us through the CQR for our clinic. However we have learned that somehow we must submit data from our hospital encounters. We do the billing from Centricity but not the charting for hospital patients. We were told by TMF to check in to a 3rd party registry but first check GE.
