Hello,
Is there a way to time appointments? We want to get an average for each provider as to how long a patient is in the office. I'm just not sure where or how to do so, or if it is even possible.
Thank you.
I would be interested in this as well
all depends...
do you change the status of the appointment?
or you can go off of when the document for the visit is created, then compare it to when the appointment status is set to checkout. You won't have a report in CPS to do this for you, I created a rooming monitor, which the person whom rooms the patients pushes a button on the screen that changes the master monitor room status to roomed and then when it is completed, it is marked as check out, so we can see who long a patient has been waiting in the room, how long the doctor saw the patient, and the overall rooming to checkout length.
Would you mind sharing your rooming monitor. I would be interested to see how it works.
below you will find screen shots, of course this is just an idea, as i have this customized for this facility, but I can definitely help you out if needed if you want this type of application for your facility, with reports if needed. All times are recorded.
Administration
This is on a huge monitor for our Medical Assistance
1. Shows Room Number
2. Status of Room
3. Provider assigned to Room
4. A. Time = Action Time, running time for current status
5. O. Time = Overall Time, running time from when Patient is roomed until check out button is pressed.
1. Patient Roomed - Marks monitor that patient has been roomed
2. Provider in Room - Provider Clicks to mark monitor that provider is with patient
3. Call/Answered - Provider Clicks in needed Assistance in Room (Single Alert sound)
4. ER - Emergency Button (Emergency Alert sound)
5. Check Out -Patient is done and is going to checkout (provider or last person in room with patient clicks)
Is this something that lives in centricity? It certainly doesn't look as though it is.
No, it does not live inside centricity, the toolbar is what is in the room and is an appbar application which pushes the live screen down enough so that the toolbar is always visible when it is open. So you can work on CPS with not having to close the toolbar.
For you to do something out of Centricity, you will have to put room numbers in and/or change appointment statuses to keep track of time, the problem is you will be wasting time to do this on every patient roomed, when this toolbar is just there, click and do your work... pretty simple.
What is the name of the application?
I just call it Rooming Monitor, no real true name to it since it is custom built for this facility. Would probably have to make modifications to work for you if interested.
