I understand there is a way to Archive OBS terms in the database. I was wondering if this helps with the slowness of opening charts. We have been experiencing a lot of this and some of it seems to be in larger charts. Has anyone else ran this and it improved the slowness of opening charts?
I've heard good things from others on CHUG, but we haven't archived our obs terms so can't speak directly to the good or bad.
It is the ARCHIVE_OBS stored procedure I believe.
We use this tool and find it very helpful with opening large charts. We have not experienced any negative effects from running it.

We have a large database, almost 600 GB, so we started using this tool this past year and it has made a noticeable improvement in opening charts.
Where do you find the tool? I have searched all over the GE website and can't find it. I just find the white papers on it.
How far back do you choose to Archive the Obs terms?
This is a stored procedure named ARCHIVE_OBS. GE recommended to us with a database size of just shy of 1TB to have this run as a job every night after backups. It has helped some with the speed issues, but there will always be a noticeable slowness when opening large charts, regardless of configuration.
