From what I can gather, Centricity Mobile, which has been pushed hard by GE at various CHUG events, has not been a useable product since at least September of 2014. We were using it well for about half a year, and then we suddenly couldn't access any online chart information.
My question is this: Has anyone been able to use it? We have had an SR opened since last year and it was assigned a defect number, but nobody can seem to tell me if it's just our site, or if EVERYONE NATIONWIDE isn't able to use this product. Thoughts?
We started using it for a while back in 2008. It was a mobile app at the time as I recall. It worked poorly and was high maintenance.
We switched to Mobility ( http://www.quatris.com/ge-centricity/mobility-for-ge-centricity/). It's web based so no apps.
Thanks for your feedback. I know that there at least were plans for Centricity to be an app available in the app store. It was on the roadmap, I believe for this year, but have not been successful in finding an answer. We were using it via a VPN connection and then accessing the website link provided for it. That was a pain but at least it worked. I guess we'll hold out hope for the app version of Centricity mobile, but am still interested in finding out if anyone else has ever been successful using it and if they are using it now, because we have not been successful since September of 2014, as mentioned. Thanks! We may look at alternative solutions later, but would rather stay with the Centricity Mobile solution if and when it becomes solidified.
I don't know if you know about this one. It is clunky and hasn't changed in years but a few of my doctors use it to look at things (not change) from their phones, etc, over a VPN

It is somewhat useful and I believe a standard jboss install by default

Yes, that has been exactly what we have been doing…using the website link you mentioned when using VPN. And it was fine for a long time. We were able to access charts in read only mode and retrieve/view data within a chart…such as visit notes, labs, allergies, meds etc. However, one day back in September of 2014, all of the sudden we were no longer able to access patient charts. We are able to search for the patient, but not access any data....can not access the chart summary. And that is still the case today. But are you implying that y'all are indeed able to successfully see patient data? If so, then I'm lead to believe that this is perhaps an internal issue on our server. But GE dialed in and took a look and couldn't nail it down...and they were successfully able to replicate my issue internally at GE Support. So not sure what is up. Again, can you confirm if indeed y'all are able to see patient data such as notes etc? Thanks for the response!
We have been attempting to use this feature for the last 3 months as well. Over the last year it has worked on occasion but the rest of the time it only allows the login and searching for patients but will NOT display their chart. I too have a case open with GE.
I feel your pain.
We have providers wishing to access read-only charts from iPads, tablets, and auditors on IE.
Well, as unfortunate as it is to hear that others are having problems with this, it's nice to know that some of us are in the same boat. I actually have a phone call with Jeffrey Leay, a GE engineer heavily involved with centricity mobile next Wednesday. Whatever I hear from that call, I will be sure to post in this forum. So please be on the lookout for an update from me next Wednesday. Thanks to everyone for the responses.
It definitely works for us, I just checked and was able to access data. I didn't realize that was what you were referring to as you were asking if it was broken for everyone. It is installed locally so if it is broken it is at your site. I would imagine that a website reinstall would fix the problem as it is a function of jboss. Not too many people (including support) even know about this feature. It looks exactly the same with every version of CPS and hasn't been updated since version 1.0 it seems.

Mike, thanks for your response. It has obviously been a very long time since we downloaded the application and since I am not in our IT Department, I am not sure how it was loaded to begin with. But since you are referring to a "website reinstall", I'll run this by them and see if that resonates. I know we had GE dialed into our jboss server and poked around for a good hour and nothing they found seemed to fix our issue. So I would have assumed they would have tried this website reinstall, or at least suggested it. I am not sure if they attempted that or not. Anyhow, thanks for your feedback. As for the application not changing much, I went back and reviewed multiple Power Point slides from CHUG events and by this point in time, there should have been "major" upgrades with abilities to prescribe meds etc. They even entered a business agreement with a company called "Punchcut" that was supposed to bring nice enhancements to Centricity Mobile, but hasn't panned out obviously. Thanks again for your feedback.
