Good morning,
Who wants to speculate on whether CMS will delay the EPCS mandate set to start on 1/1/21?
Given the hardships created by the COVID-19 response, I think it's a 50/50 that the mandate will be pushed back. Athena is negotiating an extension with Surescripts for the SCRIPT enhancement and the CPS LA is seeing some setbacks.
If CMS doesn't extend then the Surescripts extension only buys us a month. If CMS does delay then we have the option to wait for a stable v20 release well into 2021.
How are your organizations planning/preparing?

We are working under the assumption that nothing will change but are flexible if/when something does change. V20 is going to be substantially different and will require training so we are participating in V20 L.A. to get everyone up to speed with training and workflows.
Hopefully, any delay whould make for better stability in the eventual G.A. release.
