Hello,
Is anyone aware of how to report on communicable diseases for meaningful use? As in Menu Objective #10 "Sumbitting electronic syndromic surveillance data to public health agencies/actual submission".
Thank you in advance for any guidance that can be given on this topic!
As far as I know, many states aren't set up to receive the data electronically yet, I went to the Arizona DHS website and searched for "Syndromic Surveillance", it says on the website that they aren't able to accept it yet. I sent an email to them asking when it will be available, eventually got an email back stating that they're starting with hospitals in 2013 but didn't know when they'd be able to start accepting from ambulatory facilities.
I bookmarked the site so I can easily check back periodically.
Same in Connecticut. However, you can typically get a pass if you are ready to export, but the state just can't accept. You tried - even if the test failed (b/c no one was listening).
