I"m not so impressed with the "Smart List" functionality when adding a problem.
1. How does one edit the "inactive" options. An example would be Persistent Hyperplasia of Thymus. This shows up only under inactive with both ICD-9 and 10 codes. This is all going on in the demo database so no fair beating me up about whether this SHOULD be active or not 🙂
2. It only seems to search the exact description. Meaning, in the above example, Hyperplasia does not bring it up. You have to type Persistent first. Is there wild card searching? The help...well....doesn't.
I need a crash course on how this is supposed to work. Any willing educators out there?

There is a known problem with the ICD9 data base. GE is working on it. My clinicians are all having problems with it. There is no way around it.
Could clarify when you say there is a problem with the ICD9 database?
