We are testing CPS 11.1 before upgrading from EMR 9.5 and have run into a number of issues some of them already mentioned by other users. Problems we've had are crashing and slowness, existing flags attached to chart summary/document open in the wrong module or open with the wrong document (these are flags that migrated from the EMR, newly created flags work fine), problems with document overlay, at least 2 data symbols that we use don't work the same as they did in the EMR, that infernal IE window, refresh issues (the Prescription form sometimes will be blank even though there is a medication list and in a couple of areas in the Admin module), other open modules wanting to become the active window.
Our test db was being updated to SP1 the other day and something happened during the process. GE pulled it form GA.
Please help us stop the screaming in our heads!
Thanks
We upgraded from 9.5 to 11 8-16-13 and we still have chart crashing and and system crashing and the prescription module goes blank and the eprescribing module now also goes blank. we also have some of our VFE forms that our providers can only see the words on buttons but cannot see the buttons. Having some issues with the med adm and imm adm forms. That is just some. We also are having issues with only some of our thin clients we have 2 brands HP's and Neowares (which are very old) Neowares work great the new HP's we bought not so great our staff have issues and can't sch. Shall i go on or shall i just say the screaming in your heads will just move to the staffs mouths. Good luck with your sanity ours is just about gone. We are a group of 40+ providers and 250+ staff

Would you be willing to talk with us off line at some point? You can email me directly at [email protected]. Thanks so much for your response.

We have had some issues not only with custom forms but with custom reports as well.
For starters I know that the Page Close handler does not work any more, as well as being able to order the way certain forms show up in a document. I am not 100% sure as I do not do the forms my self.
Above and beyond that we have had some issues, such as the Dx search is painful and sometimes wrong.
They make you upgrade to Dragon Medical Version 11 or 12, I can't remember which, then tell you it is official broken in CPS 11 and that it does not work so well.
I know there are other issues that have been causing some headache, but our biggest issue however is that certain reports that ran fin under 9.5 now use so much disk IO that it locks down our entire system.
None of that sounds encouraging since we will Test in CPS 11 and then migrate from 9.5 to CPS 12 in the first quarter of 2014.
Not sure wether to say Thanks, Beth

Why even test 11 then? I hear 11 and 12 are very different in the problems / issues you will see. Some stuff that is a problem in 11 has been fixed in 12 already. Deploy and test 12 before going live with it to see if it meets your needs or not?
Joshua-
Spoke with my NetSpec building test system and he was wondering if your disk space was built to GE Specifications? I will relay the info about the fixes in CPS 12 that address the 11 issues. Thanks, Beth

Indeed, we got the planning for CPS 11 document and did every thing to spec in GEs document, GE even signed off on our configuration saying it would meet the requirements. We have even given the server more RAM after going live to go above and beyond their specs int hat regard.
The problem with the Minimum requirements and specs supplied by GE is that every environment is different and there is no way they could possibly tell you exactly what you will see or what your performance will be as there are far too many factors in play. Instead they give a good baseline that has been shown to give good performance.

GE is also famous for changing their minimum requirements on the fly. We put off our upgrade to CPS 11 when we saw the troubles that Josh and his org was running into.
OK Joshua...Halloween is over...I thought. I may chat with you in the future.
Thanks, Beth
Feel free to reach out if you have any questions. I would be glad to help if I can.
Currently on 10.1.3.312, was debating going to 11.1, or just waiting for CPS 12. sort of a pick your poison scenario.
Are the problems with 11.1 still persisting?
I keep reading about page close handlers not working in 11, but mine are working just fine...they didn't work in 10.3...we are on 11.0.0.621. Will be going to 12 as soon as it's available.

We have been debating the same thing, mostly discussing whether it would be worth the extra bugs to learn the changes for ICD-10 before dealing with MU2 whenever 12 comes out (lets be honest, it will probably get pushed into Q2) Chris or anyone else, thoughts on that part of CPS 11, how is the learning curve?
