We upgrade this weekend from 9.5 to 11.2 which apparently just released last week. We've just about tripled GE's requirements on the DB, JBOSS, and Citrix server ends. We've been fairly stable in testing but after reading this thread I'm absolutley terrified I'm going to have doctors with pitchforks and torches banging on our doors by 11am Monday.
TNC- what was the setting you found to correct issues with Dragon?
Not sure where my signature went-

I'll be real curious to hear how long the data transformation from Oracle to SQL took. How big is your database? How many rows in your documents table? GE couldn't give us a time frame on how long a conversion would take. Please report back on your experience
I'm curious for those that are reporting crashes with CPS 11 if they upgraded from CPS (combined client) or if they went from stand alone products to combined the combined product via 2 separate migrations. Our CPS 11 PM seemed stable while we ran the stand alone EMR 9.5, the performance problems seemed to occur after the chart info was migrated in.

We're already running the CPS 9.5 SQL version, so the actual upgrade in our tests is only taking about 90 minutes. Our conversion 4 years ago from CPOPM04 and 2005 Oracle to 9.5 SQL took about 78 hours.
Ok, thanks. When I saw 9.5 I assumed CEMR Oracle. My bad

DragonBar>Tools>Options>Miscellaneous tab:
Check checkbox to enable Microphone on (asleep)
Check checkbox to disable Disable Windows Advanced Text Services (applies to Windows XP only)
Uncheck checkbox to disable Use Active Accessibility for menu and dialog control [this is now called voice enable menus and dialog controls]
Uncheck checkbox to disable Launch in QuickStart mode on Windows startup
Hope this helps

Does any one know if you can archive OBS terms in CPS 11 or CPS12?
We are currently on CPS 11.1.138 and are getting complaints about its slowness.
When I did a trace I found that after an OBS value is changed on a form, there are multiple calls to the 'reviewed' OBS terms for each clinical list (OBS terms: "PROBLEMS REV”, “MEDS REVIEW”, “ALLERGY REV”, and “ADV DIR REV), even if the OBS value being changed in a form is not related to any clinical list. This behavior occurs in a GE form too so is not specific to custom forms.
The result of all these extra calls is slow performance, especially for patients seen frequently (and thus who have a lot of historical OBS values about the clinical lists being reviewed).
We have an idea of how to work around this, but first need to be able to archive the historical values for the 4 OBS terms listed above.
Any help or suggestions about how to archive OBS terms in CPS would be much appreciated.
Thanks.

Has anyone recieved these errors with CPS11.1? We're getting them non stop now. I have multiple cases opened with GE, but they have not been able to determine why we're getting them or a fix. Any ideas out there?
1.) "another user is editing the text"
2.) "the feild has been changed by another user"
Thanks
We have been working with an engineer regarding messages like these - for example: RDOC has been changed click yes to use your value of 6/1/10, click no to use the other value of 1/1/12. With neither date being the current document date. Because we just migrated to CPS a few months ago, it seems that "null" values in the database may at least be part of the problem. There might already be an SPR on it. If you want to forward me your contact info/ticket numbers I'll see if the additional instance would be helpful to the engineer, or perhaps if they find a fix they can quickly get that info to those working your tickets. Thanks.

I have seen this in prior versions of CPS. This is correct about the "null" values. We once did an upgrade and there was a field which GE had to write a script to populate to get something in there besides a null value. I have also sen this when the sex of the patient is not selected but these are one-off problems. The RDOC stuff I am used to seeing was dated 1962 or so

12 is out now. did anyone take the plunge?
Good afternoon, I am looking to see if anyone that bills for Anesthesia might have a report that includes the total calculated units. The current Monthly Production Analysis in CPS only has the RVU units, which is just the base units for anesthesia billing. Unfortunately, the 2 staff members who had training on Crystal have left and we haven't gotten anyone to Crystal training yet.
It would be greatly appreciated if someone has a report that they would be willing to share.
Thanks,

Hi -
Does anyone know if the Drug Interaction level (shows as red exclamation point or yellow triangle etc) can be displayed within a form - even just the text translation of the level?
Or better yet is there a way to add a button to a form that will open up the
"Drug Interactions and Contraindications" window?
We have a form that uses MEL_ADD_MEDICATION() to add a routine med to a patient's med list. The Prescription form has a "Drug Interaction" button and we are looking for ways to mimic that button in other forms.
We are on CPS 11.1.136.
Thanks.
