We are currently gearing up for our first of 10 database upgrades to Version 12 of CPS. I am working on the documentation for the new workflows and new functionality of some of the forms as well. I am noting an issues in my testing database for the Pending Approval workflow for scripts. Is anyone out there that is currently on a production version of CPS 12 and using this workflow? If so, can someone shed light on if the workflow works and exactly what should occur? The What's new in CPS 12 doesn't go into detail and I am not able to create a screenshot of the approving provider portion of the prescription approval.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you!
Sirna
From what i understand if a PA or nurse would enter the med and choose pending approval then the document is then put on hold and routed either the supervising or the ordering provider who then opens the document changes the authorizing the their name and completes it by choosing the appropriate method and signing off on the script.
Are you currently using this workflow? We are trying to use this workflow now and it signs off on the med and doesn't give the provider the option to change the prescribing method.
No we go live 6-7-14 we have just been watching the CBT video's for version 12 and reading the what's new manuals. We just so happened to watch this one today
Ok gotcha. We go Live with the first of 10 databases 5/5/14. Do you have a test environment to try this workflow?
We are just getting our test environment up and running. Did you get a test version and were all of your forms there because the forms they gave us did not include the version 12 HTML forms or the new forms for MU 2.
We had to have our hosting Vendor load the CCC-Basic into the test environment and all the patches and finally all the forms were available. But you will notice if you look at the Whats New in CPS 12 they appear to have used an old version of CPS to show off some of the forms and not 12. So you can even really use those screenshots to build your own documents.
Do your providers enter in their own orders now or what provisions have you made for them for MU 2 for that since it has to be a licensed person. We use a combo of nurses, CMA's and MA's for ours. We are trying to develope something for those who do not normal enter their own(which is most).
Most of our providers enter their own orders, but we do have some nurses, PA's and Chiropractors that enter the orders ahead of time, but leave as pending for the doc to do final signature.
Ours enter them in the assessment and plan not directly into the orders module and then the current workflow the scheduler or providers nurse, cma,ma enter those into the orders module and we are talking 40+ providers to have a new workflow introduced.
Yeah, that is a big change for sure. Our first site goes lives 5/5 and I can update this thread once we have taken the leap and let you know how it goes. I am sure we will have issues regarding workflows.
Thanks would appreciate that.
Well good news and bad news. While I was writing this post, GE got back to me and there is a known SPR for this Pending Approval function. So the reason we keep getting signed scripts is because it doesn't work! So keep that in mind when developing your training docs. I am omitting this from ours for now as the function does not work.
Well I guess there wasn't any real good news......
Where did you get access to the mini CBT's? We have a link that is not working and am wondering if you could forward me the link that you are using to access these?
Thanks!
