Ever since the cps 12 upgrade, it has been crashing alot. I noticed we get alot of these errors when opening a phone note or office visit. It doesn't happen all the time but it does happened alot.

I have a couple questions to hopefully find a common theme with these reports of CPS 12 crashing a lot.
* What version did you upgrade from?
* How are your servers configured? (Database and JBOSS on same server or seperate, virtual or physical, etc.)
* How are the users accessing Centricity? ( Full clients, terminal server, Citrix, etc.)
* When Centricity crashes how bad is it? (Just an error message, have to restart the local app, restart the server, etc.)
* How many users does your practice have?
* About how many crashes per day are you dealing with?
Thanks.
upgraded from 10 to 12.
database, jboss, and app are on separate physical servers
4 terminal servers, 130 users
cps error out, users need to login again.
crashes varies by users from 1-10 per day.

Have you installed CPS 12 SP3? We are experiencing the same crashing issues that you are experiencing, and GE Support recommended upgrading to SP3, which we have scheduled for tomorrow night.
There is a known bug where CPS will (sometimes) crash for no apparent reason when switching between Chart and Administration. (SPR 54616).
We are already on SP3.
We upgraded 6/13 and also on SP3. We get crashes when:
*removing flags/popups from charts when you first open the chart-it crashes CPS. if you close the alert box, and then open it to remove the alert, it works fine.
*Sometimes in phone notes-it crashes CPS, no apparent reason...
*Also sometimes medications are visually duplicating in updates but when you view the medications area, they are listed fine.
We have tickets open for all of these issues.

Ashley,
Wed upgraded to CPS12 on 6/30/14. Did you get a response to your ticket on the Duplicate med issue? We are experiencing the same issue and have just opened a ticket. We haven't experience the other issues you noted, but thanks for the trouble-shooting tips.
We still have a ticket open with GE. I sent three screenshot examples yesterday with three different workflows to our VAR. Just waiting on a response. It seems to duplicate randomly and not with every patient but it happens with all clinical users.
Ashley
Thank you. I'll post back if we happen to get new information before you do.

we have alot of issues after the upgrade, but the main issue is the freezing and crashing especially when opening the phone note. Any tips on making it less glitching would be appreciated.

I am curious about your hardware specs on your terminal servers. You could be having resource issues.

I don't see any resource issues. The problem we have the most is when our users click on the phone note and cps crashes. This doesn't happens all the time but enough to really bother our users. We have a custom phone note form, but it was redone after our cps 12 upgrade.
PHONE NOTE CRASH-not sure if this is an issue in 12 as we are still in 10 but go to Document template on find your phone note and select change to view. Be sure there is not an extra bracket "]" at the end of the list of components. This extra bracket would sometime get added to our when we imported a new version of a form. We now check all forms after this action and remove any extra brackets. Was told that if we add a couple spaces after the last bracket then future extra brackets will not occur.
Again not sure if this applies to your situation, but worth a look.
We upgraded CPS 10 to 12.03 on our test server and we are seeing some nasty crashes and they are reproducible at will.
The main nasty crash we are aware of is when typing in fields that have predictive/auto fill text in them. If you start to type and get part of the word and use the "tab key" to select the word it will crash the client nearly 100% of the time.
We are using Fatclient installs, WIN7, IE9, and hardware servers.
the phone note doesn't have any extra bracket but a few other document templates do. Do you know if an extra bracket does in fact crash CPS?
