Hello,
I was wondering if anyone has experience with a third party hardware integration for purposes of deploying the CPS???
We implemented our current hardware via GE partner, Clerity, however they are now integrated with Dell. When speaking with GE about this the answer was vary vague, so we are thinking to go with third party hardware solution.
Many thanks for anyone sharing their experience on this topic, 🙂
Alen
Some of the Clerity people including Cindy Markee are now with ISS. I have talked to them at CHUG, but haven't worked with them. From their website:
Systems Integration and IT Consulting
Our customers benefit from ISS’s years of experience and massive technology knowledge in the following areas:
•SAN implementations
•Production Data Migrations
•Cloud and Enterprise Data Center Design and Deployment
•Database design, tuning and backup
•Disaster Preparedness and Mitigation Solutions
We would be glad to discuss your specific needs and options for deployment, consulting, training and support. Please send email to [email protected] or call 1-800-390-4140. Your information will always remain confidential and you will receive prompt and personal attention to your needs.
Could you clarify your question? I'm not sure what you mean by "hardware integration for purposes of deploying the CPS."
I would expect most IT vendors could spec the hardware and other infrastructure required for most CPS implementations. I don't think you need a GE partner involved. We don't have a partner. This may not be related to your question at all though.
Please further clarify what you are looking for? CPS will run on anyone's hardware. Are you looking for someone to come in and set it all up? or just a consultation on what to buy?
@jsander- thanks, that exactly what we needed, I called them and left a message, hopefully they get back to us soon
@Bovie- more in lines of consultation.
@SLHV- it helps if the vendor is familiar with CPS requirements, it makes whole process easier.
To clarify,
We are looking for a company that is familiar with GE Centricity hardware requirements, so that we can get a quote for hardware needed. We don't want to get more than needed by going through regular vendors, or possibly get less than we need (or might need if we want to add features, like patient portal or something similar).
Also, we need to get a clear answer on what underlying software and licenses are needed for deployment. GE sometimes requires older version of software ( i.e. server OS, SQL). As I stated in my original post, we did all this with Clerity few years back when we upgraded to CPS 10, which made whole process much easier (as well as upgrading to CPS 12 when we didn't have to touch hardware).
We've talked to GE about this already and we cold not get a clear answer. We are thinking about possibly implementing a patient portal, so it would be good if we can do it all at once, perhaps in virtual environment, rather than buying new hardware later on. We are also opening several more sites, so we are not sure what would be best solution to cover all sites (remote access, or separate hardware).
In another words, we would need somebody familiar with all of the above, so we can get multiple options when we go to our executives for approvals.
Hope this clarifies my question and thank you all for helping out,
Alen
That makes sense. I do know of someone I could recommend at least on the database server side of things. The company I have in mind can also do a health evaluation of your current sql server which would help drive upgrade options. Please email me at [email protected] and I'll send you their contact info if you at interested.
