This seems crazy and I keep looking for what I could be missing but here it goes...
After 11 years on EMR we divorced and migrated to CPS 10.1.3. We immediately noticed that the out of office functionality wasn't working. You can set it, and when you log back in it asks if you want to turn it off but no one ever gets a message. Seeing how we were under the watchful eye of the GE SWAT team, they jumped on this and immediately replicated the problem in their facility. I have since duplicated it on a clean "sandbox install" and upgraded it and a static copy of our existing database to CPS 11 and I get the same behavior. Is anyone using Out Of Office successfully in CPS and has anyone else seen this behavior?
This is a known issue in CPS 11.
Interesting. GE acted like it was the first time they've seen it. Which of course brings up a plethora of comments from clinicians like "how is it possible they release software for production with a feature like this not working", etc. I got the behavior in CPS 10 and CPS 11.
This is actually a known issue with CPS. I reported this problem around x-mas 2012. My understanding is "It is a defect in the code". Keep reporting this to GE, hopefully they will move it up the priority list to be fixed.
A patch has been released for CPS10.1.3 that is supposed to fix this. We haven't installed it yet.
