We are planning to upgrade from CPS 9.5 to CPS 10. I would like to do a test upgrade on a copy of our existing database on a test server, before we do the upgrade on our live server and database. Our test server is a VM so one option is to clone the server, but our database is on a separate DB server, which we would still like to use for the test upgrade. Is there a way where I can copy the CPS jboss installation along with any registry settings to another server, rename the CPS instance on this server, then make a copy of our CPS database, and then map the test CPS instance to the test DB? Otherwise, would I be able to clone the vm of our production server, bypassing the need to move the CPS jboss installation, but rename this instance to test and map this to a copy of our CPS database on our database server?
I don't know if setting up a test server works that way with CPS. Has anyone done something like this before?
Thanks,
Nitin
