Where do I find best practice for Centricity PS 12.1 user account permissions for Front Desk Staff / Admin Staff / Providers. I will tweek these setting if needed. I just need a starting point.
Hmmm... Best Practice is a little gray as far as I know in this area. We found at our clinic that the Front Desk needed more permissions than initially thought, as they were doing so much more with checking the patient chart. The best thing to do is document all the possible tasks that you expect your staff may need in each role, and then assign permissions according to need.
What we did was have an IT person sit with our security director, and map out each job role in the clinic. this was done in excel with the security options as a row, and the job title as a column. Then we just marked up each item as needed and made our groups (getting some feedback from our staff when we were unsure). of course, after go-live, we found occasional rights that we had not considered, and had to update our sheet accordingly.
