Is anyone using SQL Server 2008 Transparent Data Encryption (TDE) with CPS11? If so, can you provide any insight on your experiences, tuning considerations, estimate on performance hit, etc?
We're moving in that direction so I'm looking for any pros/cons from others.
Thanks for any info...

Any updates to this? Have you had any discussions with GE about this? What is the reason for you to consider this? I like the fact that the .BAK files get encrypted but on our LAN there really is no need for this {yet}. If I wanted to encrypt LAN traffic I would like to encrypt more than just SQL traffic as we have PACs images being viewed, pdf files from other doctors, internal emails, etc, all of which I would like to encrypt.
The SQL traffic being encrypted is a start though.

Mike,
GE's position is that it's not supported, so any problems and they may ask that the problem be replicated w/o TDE. We're moving forward with no TDE on CPS11 but will revisit sometime in the future.

I figured as much. Thanks for the update.
