Has anyone had reports of handouts being missing since around Friday? We have had several reports of our Well Child handouts being missing but have also had sporadic reports of other handouts. Several of our sister sites are experiencing the same thing.

We are also having the same issue. I am wondering if it has to do with the install of CCC-Basic. Have you installed them in the recent past?
The handout content (ExitCare at least) expired on 12/31/14. GE sent out an email indicating such would happen as they are phasing this out & expecting customers will use the Truven based "patient education" which is counted in their MU2 reporting. This is the email we rec'd on 11/21:
November 21, 2014
Dear Centricity™ Practice Solution and Centricity EMR customers:
We want to make you aware of an important change to the patient education material we support. As a reminder, the embedded ExitCare® handouts we have historically supplied do not support your providers for Meaningful Use (MU) 2014. As a result, GE Healthcare has partnered with Truven to provide CareNotes® patient education materials to all current Centricity Practice Solution (CPS) and Centricity EMR (CEMR) customers at no additional charge. These materials offer numerous benefits:
√ Over 8,400 education documents, covering problems, medications,
and allergies
√ Regular upgrades, maintenance, and support
√ All documents available in English and Spanish, and some in significantly
more languages
√ Support for MU Stage 2 Core Measure 13 (Patient-Specific Education)
when accessed via the InfoButton from CPS 12 and CEMR 9.8
For an additional cost, you may also subscribe to provider referential information that supports MU Stage 2 Core Measure 6 (Clinical Decision Support) when accessed via the InfoButton.
On December 31, 2014, we will complete the transition to Truven CareNotes, and the embedded ExitCare patient education handouts will expire. We have outlined a transition plan for you below:
• If you have upgraded to CPS 12 or CEMR 9.8: Follow the instructions in the InfoButton Statement and Survey letter sent in April to configure your system for access to patient education via the InfoButton.
• If you have NOT upgraded to CPS 12 or CEMR 9.8 –OR- if you also want online access: You can still access the Truven patient education. Follow these Instructions for Online Access to Truven Patient Education to add a shortcut to your Desktop.
Please note: Online access will not count toward MU 2014.
To make this transition even easier, we will walk you through these instructions step by step in the following informational webinar.
• Activating and Accessing Truven CareNotes® Patient Education
DATE: December 5, 2014
TIME: 10:30-11:00AM PST | 1:30-2:00PM EST
Webinar Registration Link
Registration is required. For those who cannot attend live, we will record the event and post it to the service portal. We will also summarize the transition plan in the December 11th State of the Union webinar.
Should you wish to continue using ExitCare patient education after the embedded handouts expire, you may contract with Elsevier directly via email or by phone at 800-694-6669 EXT 1 for other access options, such as online access, for an additional fee. Please note: Online access will not count toward MU 2014.
We expect the Truven CareNotes patient education content to satisfy a broader range of your patient education needs and more easily keep your educational materials current. If you have any questions about this transition, contact Centricity Support Services at 1-888-436-8491.
Sincerely,
Peter Kinhan

GE had published an update to the original KB script that expired the ExitCare handouts.
It may be too late now, but you could edit the SQL file which created the database job (to 12/31/2015) in order to keep the handouts active (license and MU permitting).
I'm in the same boat. We're looking for the Smoking Cessation and Smoking Cessation - Top 10 tips for Success handouts. Does anyone have an offline copy of those?
Yes, after we did the KP update SEVERAL handouts were removed. We were not aware that this would happen and so this is a major burden for our providers. The email that was sent out was not clear, in my opinion.
Our providers are extremely unhappy with the removal of the full reference handouts and the limitations of the new CareNotes, especially related to age-specific well child and non-problem listed general problems, like lower back pain. Yes, GE did communicate that the previous ExitCare handouts would be removed as part of the transition to CareNotes, but it was our assumption that this transition would be an improvement, not a last-minute regulated down-grade. I have put in a support ticket to GE related to access and print issues with the web-based CareNotes search, so our providers can have access to a greater reference list of handouts. However, even the web-based search results are not providing age-specific well child, or other handouts most commonly used. Provider frustration is setting in...
We share your frustration. Our 260+ providers tried to make the new (Truven) based handouts work for them, but it became very apparent after 1 week in that it will not meet our needs. The content is lacking in a BIG way and we have now decided we will not be using CQR for this MU2 measure (and will now need to create our own reports). The big issues noticed on week one with our providers are:
1. Mu2 - with CQR only counting the Truven Patient Ed materials, we are unnecessarily limiting our options for providers and not able to accurately report our performance in this area. Locking us into the patient education button (Truven content) does NOT reflect the actual CMS criteria for this measure. Handouts do not need to come from a single source within the EMR.
2. Lack of preventive care based handouts/content. (especially an issue for peds). A good portion of our patient education is on prevention. ie: our ID office sees mostly travel patients who all get detailed education depending up on where they are traveling, yet none of this is available with the new content.
3. Providers have found that the quality of many of the handouts are poor & they do not feel comfortable giving the material to patients the way they are written. (grammatical errors, etc).
4. We have noticed (in our environment) for some reason, the margins are getting cut off sporadically on some printouts.
5. Workflow is not ideal, as most providers want to have an open search while in their note, not have to put a note on hold to go over to problem/med tabs.
The removal of the ExitCare handout info was a big blow to our providers & practices.
The content changes & MU2 interpration of the patient education measure by GE has really translated to a step in the wrong direction for us.
agreed. We didn't use many but there are a couple that I couldn't find after the sp7 install.
Jen, you said it all in that last sentence...
