Our QI team is concerned that patient social security numbers are visible in the search results in the "Find Patient" window in both the registration and chart modules in CPS. The concern is that individuals could get a name, birthdate, and social security number and there would not be an audit trail. We understand that individual users can customize the columns in the registration search window, but we are hoping for a way to hide the SSN for all users in both the Chart and Registration modules. Does anyone share this concern? Is anyone aware of a solution? Thanks.

We removed ssn from our database and took out of mandatory list from the registration settings in administration.
