We have users that randomly get an error that states:
Cannot find form component: Prescriptions in the document text.
This happens when they are trying to do a refill. I haven't actually seen their workflow so I'm not sure what they are doing when they get it. It doesn't happen on every patient but does happen sort of frequently. Can someone give me some idea on what might be causing this issue?
We are on CPS 10, 218, and happens on thin and thick clients alike.
Thank you
if you can send me a screenshot of the error, this would be helpful, but what it sounds like is you have a custom prescription form that requires another form to be in the chart/document as well with it to function properly.
I'm working on getting a screenshot but no luck yet. I'm having trouble reproducing the issue but the doctors are having fits about it. The error is a gray box that pops up and states exactly:
Cannot find form component Prescriptions in document text.
This definitely sounds like the Rx is looking for a specific form component. I am going to see if someone slipped in a custom Rx form but it appears to be the plain "Prescription" form.
Thank you for your help.
I was able to get a screenshot. The exact steps were as follows:
1. Select a patient
2. Start an encounter of Well Woman Check
3. Go to the CPOE A&P form and click "Rx Refills" in the lower right hand corner.
4. Put a checkmark in the top medication.
5. Get the error.
Doesn't happen all the time.
okay, this looks like what it says the error is, there is a glitch in the Text portion, if you click ok, then the Text button, see if you see the word Prescription in the Text portion. This error is basically saying that the temp data you are inputting into the form cannot be inserted into the Text portion of the chart because it cannot find the embedded text portion "Prescription".
And by the way, i see you have E&M Advisor, is that working for you? Cause it is not working for us.
It doesn't actually add the order based off the recommendation. The doctors still use it (which I highly recommend not to), just to see how they are doing... that is if they documented in the right place, everywhere.
The heading named "Prescription" is NOT in the text portion. What do I need to do to fix this?

There is your issue, now how are they adding the prescription? is it part of the encounter template? or are they manually adding it?

Yes, it is a mess, we do not use it at all cause it doesn't work. Not sure if we have an older version or not, but doesn't calculate anything accurate at all, even if we do everything we are supposed to.
They are in an update, and go to the CPOE A&P CCC Form and in the lower right corner there is a button called "Rx Refills". They are clicking that button, which inserts the "Prescription" document into the encounter.
Same here... I'm not sure why the GE Consultant even showed them how to use it. It has never worked since CPS2006, at least not correctly.

ok, then to do a work around, what I would do is in the encounter template, add the Prescription form to it. This way it is already loaded on the form and not manually inputted by the CPOE A&P CCC Form. So then when you click on the Rx Refills, it quickly sees it already on the template and in the Text portion, and does what it needs to do correctly.
That's exactly what I was thinking too. I don't recall seeing this error but I've honestly never used that button from the CPOE form. I've always either just added the Prescription to the encounter or click the "Renew Rx" button at the top of the chart.
Thank you very much for your time.
