Hello,
I have a clinician starting in September that is visually impaired, does anyone know of any setting in the EMR that can expand the screen size for this provider?
Thank you in advance for your help.

EMR is tied to the Windows screen resolution. If you go lower than 1024x768, some things might not draw correctly. There are not really any settings inside the the program to make fonts bigger. I use a tool called ZoomIt from Microsoft's SysInternals that can use a hotkey combination to zoom the screen where your mouse is. Drawback is you can't do any data entry until you unzoom it.
The microsoft Magnifier tool built into windows will zoom a portion of the screen where the mouse is positioned. It allows you to type and click buttons while zooming over an area. Its a floating box that replaces the mouse point. It works pretty well.
.
Just go under the start menu, type in magnifier. In the list that displays, click on Magnifier to start the application. On the application, you can increase or decrease (starts at 200%). Under View, you can choose Lens (mouse replaced by floating window of magnification). You can choose full screen, but I have not played with that yet.
.
To add this to the taskbar, right-click on magnifier and choose "pin to taskbar". Then your provider can find the magnifier icon on the taskbar below, and click on it to turn it on. To turn it off again, you can hover over the magnifier icon on the taskbar and right-click, choose Close Window.
.
There may be better tools out there, but this is available right away.
. I just started fiddling around with it, here is a good link that tells you how to customize the size of the Lens window. I made it wider so I can read the Centricity Chart easier.

Modifying the screen resolution and very large monitors (displays). Unfotunately for Centricity to display content in the boxes, the text size must be set to smallest. If the text size is changed, the box will cut off the text and they will not be able to see some buttons.
