I am told that these options are hard coded and yet others here in the community are saying they have changed this?
GE Support just told me the only workaround is to free text in a note.
Has anyone been successful in modifying this?

Because you can use MEL to add a directive to the chart, it should be fairly straightforward to create an encounter form that supports the custom directives you would like to use. I don't know of any way to edit the default list, however.

Basically the answer is that it is hard coded into the application itself. GE would have to change that before you would be able to modify them.
