Good evening,
We currently run CEMR 9.12.3 and deliver the application to our end users using Citrix 7.6 LTSR. We are in the process of exploring an in place upgrade to our Citrix environment and our OPS team would like to skip 7.15 and go with 1912 LTSR.
Athena no longer lists supported applications for 3rd-party products like Citrix. The response that we received was to stand up a test server and put it through its paces. Unfortunately, that is not an option since this is slated to be an in place upgrade.
Is anyone in the CHUG community currently running Citrix 1912 with either CPS or CEMR? If so, can you share your experience with us? If not, is anyone else in the same position exploring a Citrix upgrade and if so what is your current plan?
I can't comment specifically on that version of Citrix, but I can tell you that we were finding Citrix in general to be more convoluted and hardware intensive as time went by, and that corresponded with a decrease in the quality of Citrix support. One of their support guys even told us that it was so complex that "No one knows everything about Citrix."
We had been struggling for weeks with their support to get an upgraded test environment running, so in November we decided to try Parallels. We had a Parallels test server up and fully functional in one hour, and have subsequently dumped Citrix. We have been very happy with our decision.
We are using it to publish, among other things, CEMR 9.12.2, CPS 12.3.3, and GE PACS.
