As part of a staged roll-out for all of our clinics, we have enabled a number of interfaces that provide external documentation (dictations, transcriptions, hospital progress notes, pathology lab and imaging reports) into our CPS environment.
We have run into an issue that I would like your comments/experiences on. Because of this staged roll-out concept, we have gotten ourselves into situation that we are accepting these interfaced documents for providers who have yet to start using the CPS system. This has produced a provider's desktop with hundreds of unsigned documents. As we have been bringing providers online, they nearly have a heart attack when they see this voluminous amounts of documents to sign, all of which had been previously reviewed and signed off in their original paper forms.
So, my question to you is: have you ever run into this same situation and how did you deal with it?
We are looking to get GE to provide a script that we could run against a specific provider, and automatically sign these documents with an appended note something like "Administratively signed by system, provider previously reviewed and signed original paper document".
Thoughts?
There is no easy script, i have a program available that lets you sign documents as a batch that are on your desktop, this might help you if you are interested.

How do you sign documents in bulk? I never knew the process that CPS takes to sign off on documents other than setting the status in the DB to "S".
I have an application to do this mike.
