Hi,
I'm trying to run the training installation of CPS 9.5, however I'm encountering problems with the client. I'm trying to run the demo install parallel to the production install. Since I already have installed the client along with the production system, I am having problems when running the client when launching CPS from the Demo website. Specifically, the client launches ok, but I'm not able to log into the demo database/installation. I'm not able to create another install of the client for the demo database, since the client has already been installed along with the production installation. The demo website and database are setup on the same servers we are using for production, but I don't think that's the problem. Has anyone encountered this problem and found a work around for it?
Thanks,
Nitin
Nitin,
All you should have to do is create a new shortcut and point it to the demo database.
Here is an example of mine.
Production:
http://tbiapp01:9080/centricityps/cps/
Demo:
http://tbiapp01:9080/demo/cps/
And Training:
http://tbiapp01:9080/training/cps/
I only installed the client once, but have 3 different icons to launch to the different databases.
That's what I did. However I'm not able to log into CPS with any of the training database accounts. When I log in using one of the demo users accounts, I receive the error "Invalid username or password". Is there something I need to do in Server Setup for user authentication?

How did you setup the security when setting up the demo database? Server, Domain, other domain, OU?

Is was setup as domain. If I change it to Server, will I need to create all of the training database users with accounts in SQL Server for the demo database?
You would have to have them all setup as local users on the server you are using. If you have it as domain, it should work without a problem. Can you log into the system at all using your user name and pw and get to the Administration area of CPS?
I was able to get into the demo db with my AD account, did see all of the demo users in the Administration module, however I wasn't able to access most setup functions because I didn't have adequate privileges. I tried the hwinston/asdf account to bypass my domain account privileges in CPS, however this did not work too. How do I add my domain account to have full administrative privileges on the demo database install?

Never mind. I figured it out.
Thanks.
You should be able to get to the security permissions under the Administration module. Go to the top level and add yourself and then click fill down. Once you do that, log out and then back in. You should now be able to have full access to the chart and be able to give yourself access to the chart.
