Some diabetic patients who have Type 2 diabetes in their problem list are not showing up in the protocol for diabetes care. So our work around is to edit that diagnosis and add it again for the protocols to recognize the diagnosis and show in the protocols.
I had a ticket with GE on this and they said they don't know about this issue and that the only way to analyze better is to see it. But our providers are correcting the issue right away with our workaround workflow so they can move on and do their work.
Anyone encountered this issue before?
Thanks, Jude
1) Would be interested in the logic of your protocol; perhaps something in that.
2) Wonder if somehow you have uncoded problems - free text entry, but not linked to ICD code. Similar things happen with Med Lists, if the drug name is changed it becomes uncoded and difficult to then retrieve.
Are you defining diabetes via the ICD9/10 codes?
I noticed that using the protocols allowed a wildcard character in ICD9 codes but not 10 codes. This means that you would need to define each individual icd10 code in your protocol.
