Good Morning,
We are scheduled to upgrade to CPS 12 in 3 weeks. Does anyone know what HIE Centricity is certified for??? We have asked our project manager about the Direct Trust HIE and she has no idea what we are talking about. Our local hospital is setting us up with a secure email to receive hospital documents but they will not send CCDA. Any help or advise would be great!!!! Thanks!!!!!
There isn't any particular HIE Centricity is certified for, because they can accept messages from all entities as long as they are part of a Nationwide Health Information Network (NwHIN) or exchange information in a manner that is consistent with the governance mechanism ONC establishes for the NwHIN.
Even though the hospital is sending you information this way, you still need to be able to send out from Centricity to them or other health groups/hospitals for 10% of transitions of care for Stage 2.
As far as the CCDA is concerned, you don't necessarily have to receive this. It just makes it much easier to import data into Centricity. We receive CCDA's from other EMR's currently, but it's been hit or miss if Centricity will be able to actually read it or not. So, even if they could send you the CCDA, it probably wouldn't be formatted the way Centricity wants it.
To the best of my knowledge, GE has not contracted with any particular HISP. However, we signed up with MedAllies via Qvera and are in the final implementation stages of exchanging CCDAs with a large hospital here in New Mexico.
