Hello,
I am having issues getting Document Manager to import documents as signed. I cannot figure out why they are not coming in. All users have permission to sign this document type. Any insight?
Thank you!
Michelle
There is a check box on the document management side for each document to indicate if it should be imported as signed. You may want to check that.
Thank you. I did double check all of my setup, and it is correct. The checkbox is clicked.

If you are importing and assigning to a provider, that provider has to have signing privileges for the document type being imported. We had trouble with that once and caused the documents to go in unsigned even though person importing checked signed. Also, that is a "sticky" setting so you can set the default and if a user unchecks it will remain unchecked for next documents unless they remember to check it again. Hope that helps some.
Are they going to the patient charts as unsigned or not importing at all? Does this occur for all document types?
It seems as though the issue is with using obs terms in the document manager. If I remove it, it works and comes in as signed.
We import some of our documents as signed attached to OBS terms. We do however import them as signed by a "Generic" provider so that the documents do not go to the signing providers desktop for review.
Thank you. It doesn't seem to matter who I put down as a provider. They keep coming in as unsigned. The whole office has the ability to sign this particular document. What do you mean by generic? Do the documents still end up on a desktop?
Thank you for your help!
Go to your linklogic settings (CEMR is Go -> Setup -> Settings then expand the linklogic folder) and click on "Task options" Expand "Import Tasks" and then "Lab Results". You probably have a "DocumentManagementLabSigned" interface in this list. (or something similar) Press the "Document Signature and Routing" button and make sure both options are set to "Aotumatically Sign" (the first option)
By Generic I mean that we have a dummy provider set up that these documents go to. I think I may understand what you are seeing when you say they are importing as unsigned.
When you import them does the status of the document appear as Signed in the document view list? And then maybe you are seeing the following message on the text of the imported document:
Filed automatically (without signature) on 08/23/2016 at 3:27 PM
When we first started importing documents attached to OBS terms we had concerns about this but decided we were okay with the "Filed automatically (without signature) on 08/23/2016 at 3:27 PM" statement as we knew we could open the attachment to see the wet signature.
As far as I know there is not a way to change that statement to reflect that it was signed before import. I was told it was a bug and have not heard of a fix.
Yes! I think this is my problem. I will test it out when my staff leaves. I am nervous about it making everything come over as signed.
You should have a second interface called "DocumentManagementLab". This interface should NOT have the automatically sign options turned on (make sure you don't turn it on there!). Document management will automatically use this interface if the "import as signed" checkbox is unchecked.
These two interfaces together are only used if you import with an Observation attached.
