How is everyone else asking their providers to update medications that they haven't prescribed? A lot of our providers are doing this differently and I'm not sure what the best practice is for correctly putting this info in. We're about to update to CPS 12.2 and I'd like to have everyone doing this the same way when we roll over.

We enter those meds as Historical.

Thank you! That's what I was thinking, but I'm still somewhat new to the system so I'm winging it a bit.
We also are using the Historical prescription option to enter meds given elsewhere. That way if there is a medication we prescribe that interacts with their outside med, we still get the alert. it also saves us from looking at a flowsheet or history to tell the difference between in-house and outside meds.
