I'm looking to migrate from Oracle EMR 9.{x, where x >=5} to CPS EMR-only {y, where y >=11}.
Does anyone out there have, or know of, a roadmap for such a migration?
I'm trying to use this migration as an opportunity to review and refine the Practice's workflows, so I anticipate a +/- one calendar year migration timeframe. (For those of you who just passed out from the concept of a one-year migration, keep in mind that this migration is NOT the highest priority for anyone involved in the project (until end of EMR support in 2016 (ish), by which time, we'll be on CPS.))
To be honest, I've been trying to procure such a roadmap from GE, and I've been unable to detect one. I've attended the CPS-11 "This is so neat you have to Converge" seminar, and that ain't it.
Thank you all.

Hi David, shoot me an email. I may have some materials or be able to help you out. [email protected].
Well this is how we are handling this issue
i would not post a very detailed time frame or roadmap but will try to be as specific as posible with the little tools available
Preparation:
Installation of a CPS with a demo or Pre migration test database.
After this has been performed
1- Ill give 1 to 4 month for user training prior migration, doing at least 2-4 hours a week of dedicated user training for staff, 1- 3 hours a week for physicians.
2- Test migration or Pre migration test, in this step GE will perform a migration of your current data into a CPS (this process should not take longer than 48 hours) After is completed I'll Give my physician mainly and managers/supervisor together with staff the 1-2 month to test the data and or encounter form for physicians.
in this step physician will completely mimic their workflow on the now up to date CPS/EMR SQL database this will allow us to verify that all the encounter type/Encounter form and VFE form as well as obs term are working properly. ( Note that in this step physician will not be replicating their daily workflow, they will perform this update at least 2-4 times a week.)
Thus allowing the IT team the time to research the best deploying approach/action for the CPS clients and detect any mayor Crash/Bug that we might encounter giving us time to research and resolve this issue.
3- Migration (should not take longer than 72 hours )
4- Client deployment should not take longer than 24 hours
5- After migration verification (Allows a limited amount of physician to verify if their data is up to date to how it was prior migration). 24 hours.
6 - Going live and post migration stage (The post migration stage will be of about 2 month).
Please be aware that all my instances of EMR and CPS are virtual which allow me to have plenty resources at hand.
I will not perform update, upgrade or migration with real data. This resources will be recreated on a Lab environment prior the designated migration date which will allow us to go fully operational within seconds in case of a migration failure
