We have recently gone live with CPS 10 and our physicians are using Dragon Medical 11 to dictate their office notes. We are currently holding all documents and having our Transcriptionists review; however, they are unable to hear the audio files. Does anyone out there know how I go about setting this up?
Uh are you using the dragon to save the files for later transcribing? Or is the doc having dragon filling in the fields while they are doing the offices notes?
If the second way, there will not be any audio files saved in the document or at all, as it transcribes it as they dictate it. The docs would need to verify what the said was transcribed correctly. Now one thing you could do is have the docs use dragon at the same time as using a dictaphone. We are doing that now to compare accuracy between the two. So far dragon is winning that fight.
The only way you would have an audio file is if the docs were using a dictaphone and then later importing the audio files into dragon to transcribe the file.
Ernie,
Thanks for the reply. According to the information that I have found online, there are ways to capture the audio file, and I have seen that while Dragon is being used to fill in the form with-in EMR the physician can replay what was said; however, I have been unsuccessful in finding a way to capture that in a network shared folder for easier accessability.
Thanks again!
