We are looking at EMR service pack 3, as a possible limited availability site. The general release is slated for August 1 but we are anxious for some fixes related to crashes we are having. Has anyone on the forum been on the limited availability release yet and have any comments and/or cautions. Thank you.
I was on a call today and the word is that Service Pack 9.5.3 will most likely be released by the end of the week. It will address the 15-20 crashes sites are having difficulty with. Be looking to the GE website for the release. Beth

Thank you for the udpate -- I am hoping it is before August 1, we are experiencing crashes as well, very frustrating. Will keep an eye on it.
What version are you currently on? We are on 9.5.1 and it is relatively stable, we have some issues with freezing and crashing, but it is inevitable that you get a little of that.
Also what type of crashes are you experiencing, possibly some one on here has seen a similar issue and may be able to assist with your crashing.
We did a LA deployment for 9.5 SP1. It was pretty smooth, and went the same way every other CPS upgrade goes: you spend a weekend installing and updating servers and workstations in the knowledge that the current issues you are having "have been fixed" in this release, however it always opens a door to a whole host of new problems the providers then face.
Our biggest problem with the Limited Availability deployment was when it was time to upgrade to SP 1 general Availability we had a unique issue that dissalowed the upgrade to complete automatically and took sever weeks to get a fix for it. But as I said it was an apparent "one in a million" and no one else had the same problem.
That being said, if the new release addresses you current issues, there is really no reason not to go for it.
Our crashes started immediately after installing service pack 2. I expect these are the same crashes most are experiencing and I too and VERY anxious for sp3 to have a fix.
General availability for SP3 should be in the next couple of weeks from what I heard today.

We have 9.5 and were testing 9.5.2 when we heard about all the problem and a GE Representative advised us to hold off on instill until the 9.5.3 fix to move forward.

We are on 9.5.2 - and having similar issues of other posters. GE told us August 1 for release of 9.5.3. Hope sooner, if I hear of sooner, will post an update.
We are on v9.5 SP2 as well and have a lot of issues. If anyone is on v9.5 SP2 and installs SP3, I would love to hear if it resolved any or all of these issues:
- Increase the stability of the EMR
- Crashing for unknown reasons - this happens a lot!
- Refresh issues (removed/FIE documents appear in both the Replaced/FIE folder as well as the active list)
- Removing one document from a desktop removes 2 documents
- RXs: Intermittant issue of quantity disappearing and defaults to zero when the user signs the RX, etc.
We were one of the first to install SP2 as we needed the fix for a couple of MU reports. Unfortunately what fixed the MU reports broke several other things. We're having so many issues that we're no longer willing to be the first to install SP/Upgrade, etc.
I would appreciate it if someone would email me at [email protected]
with the results after you've installed SP3.

GE said they would release early to sites in dire need with multiple issues. Beth
I want to see how it affects other clinics before we upgrade. The issues we're experiencing on a daily basis didn't appear during testing...

Ditto. We are in EMR 9.5 SP2 and would also like to see feedback after installation of SP3 on CHUG or I can be e-mailed directly at [email protected]

We just installed service pack 3 in production this past weekend as a LA customer. The upgrade went very well. So far it appears pretty stable, not like sp2 which was a nightmare for us.
I'll keep the list posted.

We have been testing SP3 for a couple of weeks and have not found any major issues. The upgrade went without a hitch on the test machines.
We are upgrading our production system this week-end and should know soon if it helps.
Although we have noticed fewer "random" crashes in the test environment we will see if it makes a difference in production as well.
Has anyone heard of a delay in release of EMR 9.5 SP 3. I am trying to get confirmation on this date. I was told by GE August 1 but now am being told end of August? Anyone know what's going on regarding this?
